what we do

Environmental Law and Complex Litigation Services

Many of our projects involve real estate that has been contaminated or is subject to environmental restrictions. Our attorneys assist clients in navigating the hazardous site remediation process, and we have a long history of success in securing funding for environmental cleanups, including recovering insurance proceeds and contributions from former site owners or operators. We also counsel clients concerning environmental issues, laws and regulations that affect their properties, business operations, and interests. Our team of skilled litigators prosecute and defend environmental and other complex litigation in state and federal courts, and have significant experience handling toxic exposure claims for families and communities, including recent cases involving AFFF, PFAS, PFOA and C8 known as forever chemicals.. Our litigation team is also well versed in appellate and state Supreme Court practice.

New Jersey Land Use & Development Services

The firm’s established land use practice has achieved lasting results for its clients. Whether clients wish to maximize the value of their property through development, or preserve the character of their communities through the land use process, our attorneys are well suited to the task. Our land use team regularly appears before planning and zoning boards, and our strong litigation experience enables us to pursue a land use matter through the courts when necessary.

Where a client’s land use goals come face-to-face with environmental challenges, our team does some of its best work. Our attorneys have been successful in helping clients manage and cure the burdens of environmental impediments, clearing the way for new development of once contaminated properties. In densely populated states like New Jersey, we have helped property owners, investors, and (re)developers turn former manufacturing facilities into beautiful residential lofts, or take once blighted property and make it profitable again. Finding the funding for environmental cleanups is often one the biggest challenges, and an area where our team excels.
