Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich Congratulates Shawn LaTourette, the Department of Environmental Protection’s new Commissioner

Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich congratulate Shawn LaTourette on being approved by The New Jersey State Senate as DEP’s Commissioner. He had previously served as acting Commissioner since January 2021.

Shawn is uniquely qualified for this job. He has worked as an environmental lawyer, first at what is now Lieberman Blecher & Sinkevich and later at another New Jersey based law firm, for several decades. His practice has focused in the areas of environmental litigation, toxic tort, environmental justices and site remediation.

Shawn started with our law firm in the early 2000s and we all recognized that he was very special. He brings to this important job endless spirit, determination, and capability.

According to our partner Shari Blecher, “there is no question that the NJDEP is in excellent hands with Shawn LaTourette at the top job. His fearless determination and good heart make him a perfect Commissioner.”

We all agree and wish Commissioner LaTourette all the very best!!
